A bit of info about us...
Who We Are
Three Valleys Gospel Choir is based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, named after the three valleys that link our town to Rochdale, Halifax and Burnley.
Since 2008, we’ve been singing together as a non-auditioned community choir, welcoming singers of all abilities and backgrounds. Our motto is simple: Everyone Can Sing!
We perform regularly at local events, bringing joy through music and raising thousands of pounds for local charities.
What We Sing
Our repertoire is lively and varied — from soaring Gospel and heartfelt Soul to uplifting Spirituals, World Music and Pop. We sing both a cappella in four-part harmony (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) and with piano accompaniment.
Don’t know your voice part? Don’t worry — we’ll help you find your place!
Who Leads Us
We are led by the fabulous Stasia Chalova, whose energy and enthusiasm inspire us to sing our best while always keeping rehearsals fun.
Over the years, we’ve been guided by talented Musical Directors including Dave Barker (our founder), Ailsa Nicholson, Marie Claire Breen, and Ann Hudson (who is now our much-valued Deputy Leader). Together, they’ve shaped us into the vibrant, welcoming choir we are today.
Why We Sing
We know from experience that singing together is good for body, mind, and soul. It lifts our spirits, strengthens friendships, and spreads joy to everyone who hears us.
Membership is open to anyone over 16, and children from 11 upwards can join if accompanied by an adult. We’re proud to have members from all walks of life — including LGBTQ+ singers and members with physical and learning disabilities.
At heart, we’re about friendship, encouragement, and the sheer joy of singing together.
